"Why not combine a light with a showerhead?" With 40 days left before a national trade show, Henning Product Development helped Ondine design, engineer and fabricate this functional prototype. All parts were designed for manufacturing, leading to a quick product launch after the show.

Design Engineering

You have an idea. Let's make it real.

An innovative approach to Engineering

Design engineering is at the heart of Henning Product Development. Our experience with a wide array of technologies and materials gives you a resource to not only design your product, but to ensure it can be manufactured.

Our core strength is in geometry and our experience in manufacturing in the US and abroad. When it comes to creating parts and mechanisms for a well-functioning assembly, we also determine potential manufacturing methods and materials. This allows us to envision products coming together and functioning as intended, economically and efficiently. We draw from our decades of making products to fabricate prototypes that look and function like real production parts, and transitioning them through material selection and part documentation to manufacture mass production parts and assemblies.

We consider all aspects of a product from the start including user experience, installation materials and manufacturing.

Just because it can be prototyped, does not mean it can be produced.

Once your product is designed, it's imperative it can be produced. Production these days takes all forms from short-run production of a limited edition to thousands or millions of parts, the choices for production are different depending on the part's purpose.

How many parts will you be making? What's the expected lifetime of a part? What is the target price? These are important questions to ask at the beginning of the design process because different manufacturing techniques require different part geometries. Changes down the road can cost tens or hundreds of times more than anticipating them at the initial stages of design.

With Henning Product Development, we apply our years of experience to make sure a part can be made, not just as a prototype, but as a mass produced part. It's an up-front investment that pays for itself in reduced tooling costs and reduced time-to-market.

Draw from our experience

We have experience in injection molding, die casting, die punching, metal forming, spin forming, ultrasonic welding, forging, extrusion, CNC, screw machining, proto molding and many other processes to make as little as ten parts or millions and millions of parts. We ask early and often about the production run to ensure we design parts that can be made for the intended purpose.

We have been involved in manufacturing a large array of parts for limited production runs and products for mass distribution. And, our network of talented individuals and institutions allows us to refer you to the people that can help get your product off the ground. From tube bending and glass grinding to PCB programming and electronic circuit board manufacturers, we can help you bring your idea to fruition.
