Elan Fullmer

Product Development Engineer

Elan Fullmer is a Product Development Engineer at Henning Product Development

Elan Fullmer is a Product Development Engineer at Henning Product Development, where he focuses on product architecture, mechanism development, engineering analysis, and validation. His work helps transform ideas into practical, manufacturable products by combining analytical engineering with hands-on prototyping and real-world testing.

Elan's engineering foundation was built through a lifelong interest in understanding how systems work. Early exposure to machining, CAD modeling, and product design led him toward mechanical engineering and ultimately into product development, where he found a unique intersection of creativity, mathematics, engineering, and manufacturing.

He earned both his Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Science degrees in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Syracuse University. During his graduate research, he investigated aerodynamic performance, structural design, manufacturing methods, and energy generation systems through the development of small-scale wind turbine technologies. His work combined theoretical analysis, CAD modeling, simulation, fabrication, testing, and experimental validation to improve the performance of renewable energy systems.

In parallel with his academic research, Elan worked extensively with industrial facilities across a wide range of manufacturing sectors, including injection molding, precision machining, powder metallurgy, aerospace, electronics, textiles, steel fabrication, and industrial processing. Through comprehensive industrial assessments, he developed a deep understanding of manufacturing systems, operational constraints, and process optimization. His work contributed to significant improvements in efficiency, productivity, and resource utilization across numerous facilities.

At Henning, Elan plays a key role in product definition and technical development. He is responsible for creating and refining mechanical concepts, developing parts and assemblies, performing engineering calculations, validating designs through simulation and prototyping, and conducting technical research that supports critical development decisions. His ability to visualize complex geometry, analyze forces and motion, and translate concepts into manufacturable designs makes him an important contributor throughout the product development process.

Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams, Elan helps ensure that products are not only innovative, but mechanically sound, manufacturable, and ready for validation. His work frequently bridges conceptual thinking and practical execution, reducing uncertainty while creating confidence in the technical direction of a program.

Elan believes that the best products emerge when creativity and engineering discipline work together. He approaches product development as a synthesis of communication, innovation, mathematics, manufacturing, and craftsmanship—where rigorous analysis and hands-on experimentation are equally important.

Today, he continues to support projects across consumer, industrial, medical, and emerging technology markets, helping clients transform ideas into products that perform reliably in the real world.
